Horror Struck's Taco Tuesday Recipe!

Horror Struck's Taco Tuesday Recipe!

Tacos are a beloved staple in many households, and for a good reason. They're versatile, easy to make, and bursting with flavor. Whether you're a meat lover, a vegetarian, or somewhere in between, there's a taco for everyone. At my house we love to plan a taco night and invite our friends. I'm a big fan of making my tacos as authentic as possible and lucky for you, I'm here to tell you just how it's done. Our secret to add that magical touch of flavor? Our very own Devil's Backbone.

The Recipe:

Marinade Ingredients:

  • 1 pound skirt steak
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 lime juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Taco Assembly Ingredients:

  • Corn or flour tortillas
  • White onion, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges
  • Horror Struck Hot Sauce's "Devil's Backbone"

Marinade Instructions:

  1. Combine the olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish to create the marinade.
  2. Coat the skirt steak with the marinade, ensuring it is fully covered. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or preferably overnight for richer flavor.
  3. Grill the steak for 3-5 minutes on each side, adjusting the timing based on your desired level of doneness.
  4. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain for tenderness.

Taco Assembly Instructions:

  1. Warm the tortillas on a grill or in a skillet.
  2. Place the sliced skirt steak on each tortilla and top it with chopped white onion and fresh cilantro.
  3. Drizzle the Devil's Backbone hot sauce over the tacos, allowing its fiery essence to ignite the flavors.
  4. Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the meat.

Now that your tacos are beautifully assembled, it's time to savor the flavors. Pick up a taco, hold it with both hands, and take a big, satisfying bite.

Homemade tacos are not just a meal; they're an experience. They bring people together, whether it's a family dinner or a casual gathering with friends gathered around the screen watching your favorite film. Might I suggest one of the horror variety?
